It was cool to sit down with John Gilroy of the #FederalTechPodcast to talk about how Rancher Government Solutions is helping customers deploy modern software securely in both the enterprise and edge! I first met John back in 2020 on the Kratos Constellations Podcast. Always a lot of fun. A majority of our discussion focused on how we are helping customers deploy modern software applications at #edge. Why does this remain such a challenge? There 3 primary reasons across a wide-range of US Government use cases: 1. Connectivity: Applications and the entire software stack need to be able to fully operate without connectivity or a need for intermittent connectivity. 2. Ease-of-Use: Whatever is deployed at the edge has to be able to run without a lot of technical overhead. 3. Reliability: Mission critical software have to be reconstituted quickly and automatically. Next week I’ll be in Atlanta for ISP America, sharing an operator’s perspective on AI in ISP networks and moderating two panels. Monday 3:15pm-4pm Eastern at the CTO Summit I've been asked to speak on AI for ISPs: Build, Buy, or Partner?, a practical decision framework to adopt AI without losing focus. I’m also moderating back to back panels on Wednesday morning starting at 9:45am Eastern as part of WISPA BUILD segment of sessions 1. From Reactive to Resilient: Building Self-Healing Networks 2. Software-Defined Infrastructure for Real-World Operations A lot of people understand what is being sold. Fewer get clear on why, what problem it actually solves, and how it improves quality of life for the teams doing the work. That’s the angle I’ll be pushing in both panels.
