After sharing Steven Worthy’s reflections on the recalibration of classic design, many have asked what that means in practical terms. For me, the answer became Coloro Italia. We did not develop this forecast to follow momentum. We developed it because we could see conviction returning to decision-making. Across categories, colour is moving from accent to architecture. Saturation is embedded rather than applied. Geometry feels deliberate. Material weight is visible. The distinct character of Coloro Italia lies in its control. Blocks instead of blending. Edge definition instead of softness. Confidence instead of caution. It describes a market ready for emphasis, but not chaos. For brands navigating 2027–28, this distinction matters. When we talk about ROI in fashion tech, the conversation often rushes toward the most visible metrics, reduced waste, faster timelines, fewer samples. And while those markers matter, they’re rarely the first signs of meaningful transformation. In many cases, they don’t appear for seasons. The truth is: the immediate returns look very different, and they’re far less glamorous. 👉🏾The real ROI begins with clarity. 👉🏾With improved decision-making. 👉🏾With teams finally operating from the same source of truth instead of navigating disjointed workflows and assumptions. Technology doesn’t deliver instant optimisation. 💡It reveals the gaps that have quietly shaped the business for years. 💡If a product lifecycle is fragmented, tech will expose where communication breaks down. 💡If design and development operate in isolation, tech will surface that disconnect. 💡If processes rely on individual heroics, tech makes the instability impossible to ignore. This is why strategic groundwork matters more than the tool itself. Because without a clear operational model, technology doesn’t accelerate change , it magnifies dysfunction. But when strategy leads, something much more substantial happens: ✅ Sharper product decisions because teams understand the product earlier, not just faster ✅ A reduction in rework, not because a tool is “faster,” but because insight is shared before costly downstream steps ✅ Cross-functional alignment that replaces reactionary workflows with intentional ones ✅ Greater creative bandwidth, as teams spend less time firefighting and more time designing ✅ Operational stability, which is the foundation for every measurable outcome that follows This is the ROI that arrives quietly, often before a single sample has been reduced. It’s the shift that stabilises the business long before it becomes visible in KPIs. Eventually, yes the external markers follow: fewer samples, shorter timelines, less waste. But they are the result of internal alignment, not the starting point. When that intention is there, the returns are not just visible , they’re long-lasting, repeatable, and genuinely transformative.
