Miami Dade College is officially an inaugural member of the Google AI for Education Accelerator. This partnership is designed to equip our students with critical AI and job-ready skills. Through this accelerator, MDC students will receive free access to Google AI courses and Grow with Google Career Certificates, as well as advanced AI tools including Gemini Pro for an entire year, NotebookLM, 2TB of storage, and more powerful tools to help them achieve more in and out of class. Miami Dade College is partnering with the Mark Cuban Foundation for the 4th consecutive year to offer a no-cost AI Bootcamp to high school students in Miami. The AI Bootcamp will give students hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI tools, including generative AI, while exploring real-world applications in fields such as healthcare, arts, business, computer science, sports science, and career readiness. Students will also complete a capstone project under the guidance of industry mentors. The program is open to students in grades 9–12 and will take place over three consecutive Saturdays at MDC's AI Centers on North and Wolfson Campuses – November 1, 8, and 15, 2025 – from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Applications for the bootcamp are open until September 30. We were honored to stand with the Lewisville High School community through a meaningful support initiative focused on both recovery and educational continuity. At Lewisville High School, 36 tablets were distributed, 35 students preparing for CXC received CXC AI Tutor licences, the school was equipped with a Starlink system and generator, and 52 teachers received Eezy Teach licences to strengthen lesson preparation and classroom delivery. But this effort is about more than a single day of giving. We also created a distribution area where parents, teachers, and students could access toiletries, clothes, shoes, and other essential items, and our support will continue through teacher training in technology integration, a two-day leadership workshop for the school leadership team, support for student lunches, and the trucking of water. We are also extending support to 25 additional schools, helping to broaden the impact of this initiative across more communities in need. This is what meaningful partnership looks like, responding to urgent needs while helping schools build forward with strength, dignity, and hope. Strengthening Partnerships to Support Florida’s Youngest Learners Last week, we had the privilege of welcoming Commissioner Anastasios “Stasi” Kamoutsas from The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) to Liberty Academy, one of our sites located in Liberty City. We’re grateful for his time and commitment, as well as for the Department’s long-standing partnership with Florida Early Learning Corps over the past three years. A special thanks also goes to Chancellor Cari Miller with the FDOE's Division of Early Learning for her continued support and collaboration. The FDOE's partnership has supported FELC’s expansion into Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, and Orlando, helping us bring evidence-based early learning support to even more children across the state. Our model is closely aligned with the Department’s early learning development standards and mission of preparing every student for kindergarten readiness: an ambitious but essential goal that we share, given that 75% of students who start behind never catch up. We are also thankful to our extended team and incredible partners on the ground who helped make this possible: Sarah Brazier and Monique Brazier of Liberty Academy, Kiran Sheikh, Psy.S., Lindsay Dolce, JD, Shari Brathwaite, M.Ed, Deontré L. Clayton, Ed.M, eMPA', Andrea Tovar and Carlos San Jose, Esq., whose leadership and collaboration are vital to this work.
