🚨 Important Update for All Windows 10 Users 🚨 Microsoft has officially announced that Windows 10 will reach its end of support on October 14, 2025. What does this mean? After this date, no new security updates, bug fixes, or technical support will be provided for most editions of Windows 10. Your PC will still work, but it will become increasingly vulnerable to security threats and compatibility issues. 💡 Key Points to Know: The final version of Windows 10 is 22H2 — and it will be the last to receive updates. 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚 𝐖𝐢𝐂𝐲𝐒 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫: 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐩 ​Being part of the 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 has been such a rewarding experience! I recently volunteered to review resumes as part of this initiative, and I want to say a huge thank you to Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) for providing such an incredible opportunity to give back to the community. ​Through these interactions, I noticed a common trend: many candidates have high potential but haven't done much research on how to build a resume that speaks for them. Since your resume is your first impression, it has to be strategic. ​Based on my reviews, here are the key things to focus on: ​1. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 "𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲" 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞  ​Stop using the same resume for every job! It is time-consuming, but tailoring your resume for every role is worth it. A generic resume says you want any job; a tailored one says you want this job. ​2. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐋𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭 ​Order matters. While every journey is different, what worked for me was: ​Summary ➡️ Education ➡️ Skills ➡️ Certifications➡️ Experience➡️ Professional Development. ​3. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 "𝟰-𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞" 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲  ​Include a summary relating directly to the role you're applying for. Show your passion and interest in 3 to 4 lines max. ​4. 𝐊𝐞𝐲𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫 ​Read the job description thoroughly. Pull specific keywords and use them to form strong, active sentences. ​5. 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 ​Numbers have an impact that words don't. Use percentages and metrics. ​6. 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 ​Don't just provide a "laundry list" of tools. List experience that justifies how you used them. Context is king. ​7. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 "𝐈𝐧-𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬" 𝐇𝐚𝐜𝐤 ​List certifications even if you are still preparing for them! It shows the recruiter you are already on that path. ​8.  𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 "𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠" ​Technical skills expire, but a growth mindset doesn't. Add a 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 section for conferences (like WiCyS!), competitions, webinars, or presentations. ​🤝 I want to keep the momentum going!
