The NJ Department of Health has issued an update on access to COVID-19 vaccines for the 2025–2026 respiratory illness season. Anyone six months of age and older can now receive a COVID-19 vaccine, and pharmacists in New Jersey are authorized to administer these vaccines without a prescription under a new standing order. 🚨💼Healthcare or Financial Ruin? The $31,200 Risk Facing NJ Small Businesses In business, we are taught to mitigate risk. But what happens when the "safety net" itself becomes a liability? As we analyze the 2027 fiscal landscape at NEGOCIOS HISPANOS USA MAGAZINE, a new federal proposal regarding health insurance has set off alarm bells. New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport is currently co-leading a 19-state coalition to block a rule that could push the cost of "bare-bones" coverage into a territory that is simply unsustainable for the average entrepreneur. For the Business Community: 🔹 Skyrocketing Out-of-Pocket Costs: The proposed plan would increase maximum out-of-pocket expenses to a staggering $31,200 per family. For a small business owner or a family-run operation, one major medical event under these terms could lead directly to medical bankruptcy. 🔹 The "Death Spiral" Effect: By promoting "skimpy" catastrophic plans that lack essential protections, the rule threatens to destabilize the overall market. This often leads to a "death spiral"—where premiums for quality, comprehensive insurance soar, making it nearly impossible for businesses to provide coverage for themselves or their employees. 🔹 A Threat to Workforce Health: Removing essential benefits—such as adult dental coverage—is a step backward for productivity. A healthy workforce is the backbone of a strong economy. Economic growth in New Jersey and New York depends on predictability. We applaud the State’s leadership in fighting for common-sense healthcare regulations that protect the solvency of our entrepreneurs.
