Excited to share my latest article in the The Digital Chisel Newsletter from buildingSMART India I CDCPIndia! 🚀 As we step into 2026, I've written about a critical gap that still exists in construction despite all our digital progress: scheduling remains largely unchanged while projects grow increasingly complex. My piece explores how AI and ML algorithms are transforming schedule optimization and risk prediction in construction and pushing us to move beyond static CPM schedules to intelligent, adaptive planning systems. Key insights I touch on: ❇️ Why traditional scheduling methods struggle with real-world project dynamics ❇️ How AI can process historical productivity data, weather patterns, supply chain schedules, and communication patterns to predict risks ❇️ The shift from gut-feeling to intelligence-driven planning processes The goal isn't to replace planners but to augment them with insights that are impossible to analyze manually. With tighter margins and fierce competition, this transition to AI-powered planning is no longer optional. As construction becomes more complex and timelines become more stringent, those who leverage these technologies will lead the industry forward. I believe that while we are not perfect, and that AI is still in very early stages, this is the time to firm up your digital stacks and collect data efficiently to be ready to leverage AI soon. Invited to join ValleyNXT Ventures’ Bharat Breakthrough Fund–I as a mentor. The ₹400 crore fund is focused on supporting early-stage innovation, with close engagement alongside construction and infrastructure-led startups as they move from early validation to scale. Also participated as a panelist at the launch event, where the discussion focused on the importance of structured mentorship and domain expertise, particularly in deep-tech and sector-specific ventures. For me, this engagement is about contributing experience, learning alongside founders, and supporting long-term value creation. Practical guidance, execution discipline, and ecosystem access play a critical role at this stage. Recently, I had the opportunity to deliver a lecture at DARE Institute, Ahmedabad on AI in Construction. One belief is becoming very clear to me. The next real wave is Generative AI. Those who are learning it early and, more importantly, embedding it into daily workflows are quietly building a real edge. In construction and real estate, this shows up very practically. Teams are saving hours on repetitive reporting and coordination. Decision making is becoming faster and clearer. Digital and social presence is improving without adding headcount. People are spending more time on judgment and less on routine execution. I often compare this phase to investing in land in the 1980s. The value was not obvious then. Today, those locations define the highest return zones of our cities. The difference this time is important. Generative AI will not take fifteen to twenty years to compound. The return cycle is much shorter, five to seven years at most. This is not about replacing people. It is about compressing time, amplifying capability and creating asymmetric advantages for those who move early. The future gap will not be between large companies and small ones. It will be between those who adapt early and those who wait for certainty. The window is open. But it will not remain open for long. #linkedin #ai #managementconsulting #management

Every startup pitch deck talks about “impacting millions of workers.” But when you actually go to the ground, reality humbles you. At Shram Mitra, while interacting with workers across construction sites and labour clusters, we noticed two very real challenges: 1️⃣ Trust deficit Many workers are hesitant to share their information — Aadhaar, phone number, skills, work history. Not because they don’t want benefits, but because they’ve been promised things before that never reached them. 2️⃣ Immediate needs vs long-term benefits When a worker earns daily wages, the question is simple: “Isse mujhe aaj kya milega?” Health insurance, social security, skill records, digital work history — these are powerful tools for the future. But when someone is thinking about today’s meal or next week’s work, long-term benefits feel distant. This has been one of the biggest learnings for us while building Shram Mitra — Shramik Ka Digital Dost. Technology alone cannot solve labour problems. Trust, consistency, and real on-ground engagement matter more than any app feature. So instead of just building features, we are focusing on: ✔ Building trust through contractors and community networks ✔ Delivering small but real benefits early ✔ Making workers see value before asking for data Because the goal isn’t just to build a platform.
