So, Ernst & Young accidentally left a 4 TB SQL Server backup wide open on Azure (article in comments). Not quite the “cloud sharing” anyone signed up for. It’s a reminder that as networks and cloud environments get more complex, migrations often outpace visibility...leaving blind spots bigger than EY’s backup file. If you’re still relying on manual configs or legacy tools, how confident are you that you’d catch something like this before it becomes a headline? I'm mainly posting this for Cory Ehrentreu, MSCM but there's probably one or two others who would be interested this! We've built a local MCP Server that currently works with Claude Desktop (because it supports local MCP servers). The MCP Server exposes certain commands in Revu so that you can have Claude operate Revu on your behalf using natural language. In this video I show how to change the properties of multiple markups. You don't have to upload anything to Claude - it works directly on the PDF you have open (and yes, you can "undo"). Did you know that the AWS command line tools use US-East-1 as their default region? If you don't specify a region or data center, your server, lambda, app, etc. are all running in US-East-1. Just thought I would remind folks to set their region in their command line and scripts.

You should seriously consider moving jobs for the same salary in 2026… I posted the other day about how Azure salaries peaked in 2023, and have been slowly declining ever since. If you’re in Azure Infrastructure + Cloud, Platform… the boom is probably over. What that means in real terms? If you’re planning a move in 2026, the salary you’ll be offered will likely be very similar to what you’re already on. And that creates a mindset problem. Most people still think: “I’d only move for a £5–15k increase, otherwise what’s the point?” But here’s the thing… If you’ve switched jobs a couple of times since 2019, you’ve already ridden the salary growth curve of Azure and Microsoft skills. So the next move isn’t necessarily about money. It’s about momentum. Ask yourself this… Are you still learning new tech? Are you getting exposure to AI, automation or architecture? Are you building towards leadership or just maintaining delivery? Because if I were a betting man, 2026 will see far more people moving jobs for the same money But into roles that stretch them, challenge them, and position them for the next wave of Azure and AI transformation. Progress > Pay Rise. Would you move roles for the same salary if it meant real career progression?

Where are you storing your production Terraform state? 📂 If it’s local… you’re probably doing it wrong. 😑 One laptop dies, one state file gets corrupted, and your entire infrastructure management grinds to a halt. It’s a great reminder that “works on my machine” doesn’t scale to production. Terraform state is critical to your IaC strategy. Treat it that way. Use a remote backend. Lock it down. Secure it. And enable collaboration. 👉 Curious to hear: where’s your team storing state today? AWS S3? HCP Terraform? Something else?
