🌊 EYES ON THE WATER – November 2025 Snapshot Pleased to share last month’s hydrological update, capturing the changing water landscape across Pakistan. ❄️ Snow Cover: UIB snow cover is around 80% this month—slightly below last year but with hope that the ongoing winter will bridge the gap. 🚰 River Inflows: Most RIM-station inflows are tracking close to the 10-year average, with only Jhelum at Mangla showing a dip. Overall, seasonal flows remain steady and aligned with long-term patterns. 🏞️ Reservoirs Storage: Our major reservoir's total storage stands at 8.66 MAF—higher than both last year and the 10-year average—thanks to a healthy storage position at Mangla. 📉 Kotri Releases & Withdrawals: Canal withdrawals remained stable, while downstream Kotri releases were measured at 0.095 MAF for November. 🌦️ Rabi Season Outlook: PMD forecasts below-normal rainfall, urging careful reservoir operations. With strong storage and close monitoring, we aim for smooth water supplies despite evolving climate pressures. How does the degree of excellence impact the success of a steel bridge project? How is excellence achieved? Answering correctly is paramount for achieving quality bridge projects that are cost-effective and on schedule. The 2025 AISC T. R. Higgins Lecture addresses these questions, providing shop floor insights that transcend bridge fabrication to any custom manufactured engineering components. Speaker Ronnie Medlock is a professional engineer with 37 years of experience in bridge design and construction. As VP - Technical Services, Ronnie is responsible for quality control and is the chief technology officer for High Steel Structures of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. A graduate of the University of Texas, Ronnie worked for TxDOT before joining High Steel in 2006. Ronnie advises engineers in bridge design and advances best steel bridge design and construction practices nationally through several associations, including AISC / NSBA, AISI, AREMA, AWS, and TRB.
