🦠 🐄 We're proud to support innovative #OneHealth research projects through our Global Health Seed Grant Program. One recently awarded project, led by Stanford infectious disease researchers Abraar Karan, MD MS MPH DTMH and Benjamin Pinsky MD, PhD, seeks to assess the risk of #birdflu in California Communities through a mixed-methods, One Health-focused approach. “We are excited that we are able to partner with one of our state’s dairy farms on our research study, where we are examining antibodies in high-risk workers that lead efforts to milk cows and sustain our nation’s milk supply," says Dr. Karan. "Visiting the farm was eye-opening and informative, both in terms of how this work is carried out and the unique risks faced by farms and their workers. In speaking to workers, I was surprised by the resilience of our dairy industry to push through such a difficult outbreak head-on.
