I was the organizer of Nowruz event supported by Iranian Society at Virginia Tech (ISVT). I tried and was successful to attract many people from different nations including Americans to attend the event. The event was a great opportunity for the attendants to socialize and communicate with others from different races, genders, ethnicity, and backgrounds.

A mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) formulation is proposed to minimize the costs using net present value (NPV) technique. The proposed formulation
considers the criteria of the two most common models in the literature for such a problem, namely P-median model and flow refueling location model (FRLM). A decision support system is developed for the users to be able to control the parameter values and run different scenarios. For case study purposes, the method is used to find the optimal number and locations of the alternative-fuel stations in the city of Chicago. Some data wrangling techniques are used to overcome the inability of the
method to solve very large-scale problems. -

Extracted laptop data using BestBuy API and used several data wrangling techniques to clean the data. Implemented several data exploration and data visualization techniques. Developed decision tree, random forest, neural networks, and linear regression in Python. Presented the results through Jupyter notebooks.

This application can assist manufacturing companies and retailers in pricing the products. The application extracts data about laptops and their features from Best Buy's website using their APIs and uses data wrangling techniques to train the machine learning algorithms. So, given the specifications of a laptop, the application can recommend a good selling price for it. With some modifications, the application can be used for other products than laptops.
Linear Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, Artificial Neural Networks, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), LASSO are the techniques and algorithms used in this project. The application is developed in Python and scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, TensorFlow, Seaborn, and Requests are some of the packages used in the application. -

Studied how suicide among adolescents is associated with substance abuse and quality of their relations with parents. Wrangled AddHealth data and developed linear regression, decision tree, and random forest models in Python. Visualized the results in Jupyter notebooks.
