We're almost 24 hours after the iPhone 17 launch, and while the buzz is all about satellite, AI, and new form factors - there’s an interesting consumer angle worth noting. We at Amdocs just released new research showing that 61% of consumers plan to upgrade, and a third are open to switching providers. That’s a clear loyalty window - and a moment of opportunity for those who get the experience right. Some other signals from the data: 1.⁠ ⁠Battery life is still the #1 reason to upgrade. It’s 2025, and users still care more about battery life than AI. That’s a true wakeup call. 2.⁠ ⁠Satellite support is no longer niche - 62% say it could influence their provider choice. 3.⁠ ⁠And the move to an eSIM-only iPhone Air? Great to see - more flexibility, no little plastic bits required. About time! Device launches grab attention, but they also shake up expectations. That’s when loyalty is won or lost. I just read a fantastic deep dive from Shezan Kazi on the state of Agentic AI. Three insights that immediately clicked for me: - The Latency Crisis: In voice, physics matters. Anything over 700ms breaks the illusion of presence. We need to aim for the "magic number" of 300-500ms. - The Fragmentation Tax: Overlay bots create context loss. "I already told the machine that..." is the quicksand of customer trust. - The "Super Agent": The new human archetype isn't about reading scripts, it’s about high EQ problem solving for the complex 20% that AI can't handle today. My takeaway: Don't view AI as just a tool; view it as an auditor. It will instantly highlight your process inefficiencies. The real work for 2026? Start improving your process and scrub your data and adopt AI all along the way. GoGoGo!@Dialpad
