Fast-Track AI Previs Pipeline: Sketch to 3D Scene Visualization for Character. When digital alchemy meets AI, transforming a hand-drawn sketch into a fully interactive 3D scene takes hours instead of weeks. We tested a new pipeline at Arcanum Works resembling real pre-production cases. Here’s how I conjured a character previs, skipping traditional modeling, rigging, and rendering by leveraging the latest AI tools. The Process: 1) Hand sketch to rendered character image with Midjourney Retexture 2) Placing a character in the scene with Runway References 3) Character turntable camera animation in Runway Gen4 4) 3D scene creation with Postshot gaussian splatting Key Insights: - Fast. What once took days - modeling, rigging, posing, rendering - now happens in a single AI-powered pipeline. - Rough. AI still struggles with fine detail consistency, especially on highly detailed characters. It remains an approximation. - Lacks Control. Precise camera control is challenging; full turntables are not yet reliable. For example, a “truck left” command produced an actual truck entering the scene. It's still more of playing a roulette then a transparent process. - Interactive. Postshot’s gaussian splatting impressively enables interactive scene navigation, making it suitable for rapid previs and integration into Unreal Engine. This AI-driven workflow is a game-changer for rapid iteration and visual validation, redefining previs and accelerating creative exploration. Microdrama company Holywater acquired AI-assisted VFX firm Jeynix and rebranded as Holywater Tech. Jeynix specializes in face replacement, de-aging and lip-sync tech, a.k.a. the uncanny valley starter pack. The Ukraine-based company recently raised $22M and has a deal with Fox to produce over 200 shows. #thedailies

Got configurable properties set up for: - wireframe stroke color, thickness, opacity - face color, opacity - XYZ rotation - auto rotation speed - click & drag + flick interactivity, friction, amplitude - lights with XYZ properties - ambient light, specular intensity, highlight color - backface culling - polyhedron dual structure modes - subdivisions - and more! AI Filmmaking is developing to another level. We are so spoiled from fast growing quality that many are still criticizing:“It’s still fake and I still can see it’s AI… therefore it’s useless!“ But this is just the beginning. From what we’ve seen over the last 2,5 years how quickly the quality has improved what do you think how this is going to be in 2-5 years? Producing content nowadays is not about if you would use AI or not, it’s where and how… The Anti-AI-movement is also developing within the content creators community and it’s really interesting to observe how they will manage to step up against the AI slop. But breaking down it’s still the same thing as always: - if AI or not, a good storyteller and creative head can not be substituted. These are just tools like brushes and colors for a painter.

V2V test with Luma AI Realistic Style (clip from "What Remains", my recent AI native film/video) -- to -- Artistic Anime Style Great for single clips as of now. Precise motion transferred - see the shoulder movements. Scene building still needs a lot of meticulous planning, trial and error. At this stage, we can do shot inserts in already similar stylised native-AI genned videos.
