Listening to Digiday’s latest podcast on AI and agency-client dynamics got me thinking about just how complicated this “AI frenemy” really is. I was struck by the tension: AI can empower brands to take control of marketing, but it can also make the work so intricate and costly that agencies become even more indispensable. What really hit me is the human side: AI might fill gaps where marketers leave, but it can’t replace the nuanced guidance, strategy, and relationship-building that agencies provide. In this new era, we have to rethink how humans and technology can work together.
