Our Energy Affordability Policy Library is a centralized, searchable hub that helps communities more quickly assess, compare, and advance state and local affordability policies. Feeling energized coming off of a US Water Alliance Water Equity Network Peer Exchange, sharing the release of Equitable Water Management: A Guide for Utilities (https://lnkd.in/e8DFxF4m) Some takeaways from this group: 💧 Partnerships with community organizations are an important element of any equity strategies utilities may be considering 💧 Community members need to buy in to participate. Don't underestimate the importance of communicating the value and role of water in the community to encourage engagement 💧 Utilities are still very much doing this work. Many have been at it awhile and some are still looking to get started, and they all love to learn from one another Explore the guidebook for examples and guidance on crafting an organizational water equity strategy. The energy sector still remains a legacy system with centralised generation, transmission and distribution. With the clean energy transition gaining traction in most developing economies, off-grid and underserved communities require innovative approaches to reliable clean energy access. Happy to share my second piece for DIAL which focuses on the potential of DERs and decentralised energy systems. Moving from a highly centralised legacy system to a decentralised one requires tools and technology for a seamless transition. Digital holds the key for a decentralised clean energy future. Digital enablers such as DPI and AI offer innovative approaches to decentralised clean energy development, management and operations. The future of energy is both decentralisation and digital!

As “small island digital states”, #SIDS 🏝️ are leveraging AI, IoT, and remote sensing to optimize energy planning, predict climate risks, and integrate energy with water, food, and transport systems: 🌊 Pacific SIDS are using open data platforms and digital assessments to enhance energy planning and financing transparency ☀️ Caribbean SIDS are integrating AI and IoT into energy systems to improve smart grid management 🏝️ AIS SIDS are upskilling and reskilling workforces needed for a resilient and inclusive energy transition that can empower women, youth and entrepreneurs through digital.
