Not only do they dominate the commercial market….they are dominating the Medicare Advantage and Managed Medicaid market, with political approval! Just watch the most recent congressional session where they all admitted to being so vertically integrated that they are the insurance companies, providers, prescribers, source of pharmaceuticals and decider of who gets treated and how they get treated. Do you think this will work out good for patients or shareholders more? I have a very well educated opinion, what’s yours? It’s time for everyone to wake up!!

News Release: New data shows 5.8% of Minnesotans were uninsured in 2025. Data shows: • Minnesota’s uninsured rate rose sharply from 3.8% in 2023 to 5.8% in 2025. • Approximately 116,000 more Minnesotans were without health insurance between 2023 and 2025. • The increased rate of uninsured Minnesotans appears to be driven by a decrease in public coverage, which dropped from 44.1% to 39.6%. • Uninsurance rates increased among almost all groups of Minnesotans by income, race or ethnicity, age, sex, and geography. • More Minnesotans are concerned about losing coverage in the next year, with the primary concern being increased costs. Wisconsin has some of the highest healthcare costs in the U.S. One way to measure this is by comparing what private insurance pays relative to Medicare. By this measure, Wisconsin patients with private insurance pay 3.2 times the Medicare rate for the same service! Some states, like Vermont, are implementing price caps on hospitals that limit how much more they can charge private insurance patients. Wisconsin should follow suit.

DYK? Iowa’s projected $917 million state budget shortfall in FY26 isn’t a sign of financial stress — it’s the result of a long-term strategy to return past surpluses to Iowans through tax cuts. Read CSI’s full analysis of Iowa’s FY26 budget: https://lnkd.in/gme8jVsw

The Real Engine of U.S. Job Creation At today’s ACG MN luncheon addressing the State of the Economy, Gordon Telfer painted a much rosier picture than what I expected for 2026. He also shared an important reminder about where job growth truly comes from in the U.S. economy. Companies with fewer than 500 employees account for nearly 80% of net new jobs created, making small and mid-sized businesses the primary drivers of employment growth. What’s equally notable is that approximately 90% of privately held companies in the U.S. are family-owned. Taken together, these data points reinforce the critical role family-owned enterprises play in job creation, economic resilience, and local communities. Supporting their growth, leadership continuity, and long-term sustainability is not just a business priority, it’s an economic imperative. #stateoftheeconomy #executiveleadership #CEO #familyowned
