People are writing on their blogs that page-speed is the primary reason why you are not ranking for your target keywords. This is misleading and technically false. The problem is that your content is either not important to your core audience or not well structured. Yes Core Web Vitals are not irrelevant, yet their role in search performance is often overstated when discussed in isolation. Page speed, visual stability, and responsiveness remain important technical signals, particularly for usability and accessibility. However, they do not outweigh what ultimately matters most to search engines: how users engage with a page once they arrive. Google’s ranking systems increasingly prioritize user behavior signals such as dwell time, scroll depth, repeat visits, and interaction patterns. When users spend meaningful time reading, navigating, and engaging with content, it signals relevance, usefulness, and alignment with search intent. A fast page that fails to hold attention offers limited value, while a slightly slower page with strong content can still perform exceptionally well because users choose to stay. This does not suggest that performance optimization should be ignored. Poor page speed can frustrate users and increase bounce rates, indirectly harming engagement. The key distinction is that speed is a supporting factor, not the primary driver. It enhances the experience but does not replace substance. Sustainable SEO growth comes from balance. Technical optimization should create a smooth entry point, while high-quality, well-structured, and genuinely helpful content keeps users engaged. When content answers questions clearly, provides depth, and encourages interaction, dwell time naturally improves, and rankings tend to follow. Rather than treating Core Web Vitals as the goal, they should be viewed as part of a broader strategy centered on user value. Optimize performance, but invest even more heavily in content that earns attention and keeps it.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I still do keyword research. I rely on tools like SEMrush and Ahrefs. I look at the SERPs to understand intent. I build content clusters. I recommend internal linking. And the content I create is helpful, reliable, and trustworthy. Personally, I’ve seen a lot of suggestions on starting elsewhere. With sales teams, site search data, product teams, and internal insights. But my question is: weren’t we doing that already? I start with keyword research because it’s one of the most reliable datasets we have in marketing to understand real human search behaviour at scale. Keyword research isn’t static. It continues to evolve: from short-tail to long-tail, from queries to prompts, from keywords to conversations. It’s not the strategy on its own but it’s still a powerful foundation. i sell marketing services to clients. it’s my 11th year. here are 11 things i wish i knew earlier: 1) one strong case study can meaningfully outweigh almost everything else you do to sell your services 2) a lot of leads vanish before the inquiry because there’s too much friction in the path. (the biggest one, in my experience, is giving no pricing signal up front) 3) a service starts to feel premium when the buyer can sense constraints 4) buyers don’t pay more because you worked hard. they pay more when the problem is expensive. (so a filter to use when prospecting is quantifying the size of their problem) 5) the easiest clients to impress are rarely the best clients to keep 6) your portfolio is a sales asset. not a museum of old work. (optimize it for sales!!) 7) being fully booked can hide weak pricing for an embarrassingly long time 8) a service becomes easier to sell when you can describe the outcome in one sentence 9) the market rewards clarity so aggressively that it can feel a little unfair 10) the same skill can sell for $800 or $8,000 depending on how the service is packaged .. (how you package and position a service often matters more than the service itself) 11) a good service business usually looks simpler from the outside than it actually is. that simplicity is part of what makes it sell. anything important you learned in your own journey i missed here?

There are only 4 reasons your ROAS is low. Forget the 73-point audit your agency just sent you. Every failed campaign comes down to one of these: 1. Your CPM is too high 2. Your CTR is too low 3.
