  • Gaussian projection: a novel PBR algorithm for real-time rendering

    SIGGRAPH 2009 : Posters (ACM)

Gaussian Projection is an algorithm based on the Gaussian Pyramid, that can render point-sampled-geometry - obtained from stereo data in the form of range images - without polygonization, and at full native resolution. Gaussian Projection makes use of the GPU to perform efficient and fast multi-resolution rendering of point-based data, with automatic hole-filling (scattered point interpolation), and without any preprocessing other than Image Pyramid generation.

  • Pyramidal Multi-view PBR - A Point-based Algorithm for Multi-view Multi-resolution Rendering of Large Data Sets from Range Images

    GRAPP 2009

This paper describes a new Point-Based-Rendering technique that is parsimonious with the typically large data-sets captured by stereo-based, multi-view, 3D imaging devices for clinical purposes. Our approach is based on image pyramids and exploits the implicit topology relations found in range images, but not in unstructured 3D point-could representations. An overview of our proposed PBR-based system for visualisation, manipulation, integration and analysis of sets of range images at native…

Honors & Awards

  • Best Final Year Project Award Nominee: A real-time photorealistic renderer

    International Islamic University Malaysia

I was nominated for the best Final-Year Project award in the department of Information and Communication Technology for my work on the single-handed development of a real-time rendering engine with support for global illumination via baking radiosity information in textures.

I could not compete for the final award, however, since I had to travel back to Pakistan.
