Let’s talk Connection! Connect to Work Georgia, a workforce initiative housed within the Metro Atlanta Chamber, continues to demonstrate the power of partnership in action. On Tuesday, July 8th, we hosted a Connect to Opportunity Job Fair in partnership with Gwinnett County Government – Workforce Division, Gwinnett Technical College, and Corners Outreach. The event drew over 200 registered job seekers seeking employment at Carter’s Braselton warehouse—one of our valued investor partners. Angelia O'Neal, MBA, Talent Acquisition Coordinator with Connect to Work Georgia, captured meaningful feedback from Carter’s, who was on site offering next-step interviews. Candidates were screened on site by both the Connect to Work Georgia team and Carter’s hiring professionals, making real-time opportunity a reality for job seekers. ✨ WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! Provost's Book Club with Will Packer at Coppin State University Huge thank you to Dr. Chanta M. Haywood, Ph.D. for bringing this incredible experience to Baltimore and the students of Coppin State University and for weaving Who Better Than You? into the curriculum. Seeing students already engaged with the material before Will even spoke? That's the power of intentional leadership. 👏🏾📚 Will Packer dropped some GEMS this afternoon, and here are some of the key takeaways that hit different: 💪🏾 Use your Blackness as power to get their attention - Advice specifically for Black men navigating spaces where representation matters 🎯 Healthy vs Toxic Arrogance - I have a RIGHT to do this. This room is BETTER because I am in it. That's the energy we need to carry. 🔥 Confidence is a muscle - It has to be exercised. Self-affirmations aren't corny—they're necessary. I AM PREPARED TO SHOW THE WORLD MY GREATNESS. 🎥 Do the thing that scares you MOST - Will shared how the Oscars terrified him, but you can't live a successful life in fear. The first all-Black Oscar production team happened because someone was willing to be afraid and do it anyway. 💰 Date goals vs Money goals - When raising $500K for Think Like A Man, Will set a date goal instead. Raised $75K and shot the film anyway. Sometimes you just need to convince yourself first, then show others it can be done. 📽️ Finish the damn deal - Create OUTSIZED success by following through. Thank you for letting us capture and share this moment! 🙏🏾

Spotlighting HBCU Business Schools – Celebrating Excellence During Black Business Month Clark Atlanta University (School of Business Administration) Clark Atlanta University’s School of Business Administration is one of the nation’s most historic and prestigious HBCU business programs – in fact, it was the first HBCU to confer business degrees (tracing back to Atlanta University in 1946) and today holds esteemed AACSB accreditation . CAU’s business school continues its legacy of excellence through a curriculum that stresses innovation, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility. It houses a Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurial Development (CIED) that nurtures Black-owned startups and was recently highlighted in Atlanta’s Startup Ecosystem Guide for its impact . The school’s entrepreneurial spirit is woven into student life, as evidenced by CAU being the first HBCU to officially partner with Operation HOPE’s 1 Million Black Businesses (1MBB) initiative (funded by Shopify) – committing to help create 1,000 new Black-owned businesses by 2030 . Clark Atlanta’s strong corporate and community partnerships amplify its students’ experiences. Through the 1MBB partnership, CAU students, alumni, and faculty gain access to training, mentorship, and capital to launch their own ventures . CAU also regularly engages top executives via its Clark Atlanta Business School (CABS) forums and leadership lectures, giving students personal exposure to industry leadership. Its faculty are noted for integrating real business projects and case competitions into coursework, often sponsored by Fortune 500 firms. By blending a rich tradition with bold initiatives like 1MBB, Clark Atlanta University’s business program remains a trailblazer in producing competitive graduates and empowering Black entrepreneurship on a national scale.
