A few months ago, we announced our work with ICC to put together a simple #SDS system, with an eye towards #Ceph users as the initial customers. Today, ScaleFlux announces the next step in "keep it simple" for Ceph. We've worked with croit to enable the use of NVMe Thin Provisioned Namespaces (TPNs) in the Ceph environment. Why? Well, with Thin Provisioned Namespaces, Ceph users can leverage the transparent compression in the ScaleFlux CSD5000 to get the benefits of data compression without suffering any penalties on quality of service (QoS) or service level agreements (SLAs). Croit has integrated use of TPNs in their Ceph management software for immediate use. Also, the code has been submitted upstream for integration into Ceph - we want to enable all users! ICC offers their RAIO storage server pre-configured with ScaleFlux CSDs and Croit SW for your complete Ceph solution. More integrations are in the works already as we work to #makedatafly for your AI and data center.

The utilisation of open standard-based computer modules (COMs), such as COM-HPC or COM Express, facilitates the implementation of the requisite flexibility to respond to emerging trends. The present author is convinced that computer-based solutions utilising COM technology represent the optimal response to the full range of imminent challenges associated with all kinds of embedded computer applications.
