We had a great discussion about the evolving landscape of legacy application modernization whereby AI has changed long-standing criteria when evaluating on-prem versus cloud. For today’s technology leaders, workload placement is dictated by where meaningful AI capabilities actually live. As such, "The historical parity between a cloud and an on-prem system is diverging. When Leadership Becomes a Brand Liability In today’s environment, brand value is no longer driven only by products, service, or performance. It is increasingly tied to leadership. This week, billionaire Thomas Pritzker announced he is retiring as Chairman of Hyatt Hotels Corporation following renewed public scrutiny surrounding historical associations referenced in recently released U.S. Department of Justice documents. Regardless of legal context, the branding reality is clear: When leadership becomes the headline, the brand absorbs the impact. Consider this: - According to Edelman, 62% of consumers buy or advocate based on a company’s values and leadership behavior. - Reputation can account for 20–30% of a company’s market value. - In crisis situations tied to executive conduct, companies can experience double-digit percentage declines in short-term shareholder value, depending on severity and response. In hospitality: where trust, safety, and brand perception are core to pricing power, any reputational risk can influence bookings, partnerships, and investor confidence almost immediately. Hyatt operates more than 1,300 properties across 70+ countries, serving millions of guests annually. At that scale, leadership visibility is not symbolic as it is structural to brand equity. Here’s the branding lesson: A company can spend decades building trust. But public perception moves at digital speed.
