Cloud native and AI aren’t parallel trends anymore; they’re merging. The question is how we make AI boring in the best possible way: predictable, portable, and ready for operations at scale. That’s why the Kubernetes AI Conformance program announced on the mainstage matters. It sets a common floor across six pillars—accelerators, networking, security, scheduling, observability, and operators—so teams can run AI on Kubernetes without bespoke “one-off” integrations for every environment. The live demo showed the building blocks we’ve been asking for: GA Dynamic Resource Allocation in 1.34 to model GPUs/TPUs, standard metrics from the model and accelerators, and autoscaling via custom metrics paths that platform teams can actually support. Context for the urgency: inference demand is compounding. Google reported an increase from ~980 trillion to ~1.33 quadrillion tokens per month in a matter of months. That level of consumption shifts the conversation from pilots to platform. Conformance is the mechanism that aligns vendors and gives enterprises a stable target. What we’ll be watching next: how quickly providers certify and how conformance guidance evolves for multi-node and fractional accelerators. NetApp should be well positioned to participate in this enterprise-level AI spend as it materializes because of its: (1) deep enterprise relationship for traditional business applications; (2) its differentiated hybrid multi-cloud capabilities; and (3) its AI-tailored hardware and software, including the AFX system and AI Data Engine (AIDE). First, NTAP has deeply entrenched relationships with some of the largest enterprises in the world with 85% of Fortune 500 using its product. We believe NetApp's position as a highly reliable incumbent with a long track record makes for an easier cross-sell motion as enterprises look to make investments to ready themselves for future AI workloads. Second, NTAP's ONTAP platform offers a unified storage infrastructure for hybrid cloud/multi cloud environments. In addition to being a widely adopted, mature on-premise storage platform from traditional business applications, ONTAP is also uniquely runs as a native, first-party cloud service in all three major public clouds. ONTAP allows customers to simplify its management of a data set across multiple environments, which will be increasingly important as enterprise implement AI solutions in the most cost effective and secure way. Third, NTAP recently launched a new AFX storage system that supports the independent scaling or compute and storage resources. This disaggregated storage architecture is well suited for the performance and the capacity demands of AI workflows.

Advocacy and public reporting have described AWS as a cloud infrastructure provider for U.S. immigration authorities and DHS components, including ICE. Boycott Amazon (AWS) is listed for boycott due to documented provision of cloud infrastructure used in U.S. immigration enforcement operations. Procurement reporting describes ICE seeking cloud infrastructure hosting services that explicitly include Amazon Web Services (AWS), alongside other major cloud providers, to support ICE mission requirements. Public reporting has also described ICE cloud hosting contracts and task orders that include AWS cloud offerings as part of ICE’s cloud environment and services ecosystem. In addition, public reporting and advocacy documentation have described AWS cloud services as enabling storage, processing, and sharing of data used by ICE and DHS for immigration enforcement, and have called for boycotts or pressure campaigns based on those ties. Background ICE and DHS rely on contractors and commercial cloud providers for infrastructure that supports data storage, analytics, and mission systems across enforcement and investigative functions. Because cloud hosting and related services can materially expand surveillance, targeting, and enforcement capacity, ICE List documents and, where applicable, boycotts companies whose work supports immigration enforcement operations.
