Most small government contractors are fishing in the same 5–10 opportunity pools. Meanwhile… the Defense Logistics Agency manages over 665 different Federal Supply Classes (FSCs). That’s hundreds of categories where contracts are issued every year, many with very little competition. I recently compiled the complete DLA managed FSC list to map where opportunities actually exist across the supply chain. From aerospace components… to industrial hardware… to electronics… to construction materials… If you're trying to break into federal contracting or expand beyond the categories everyone else bids on, this list can completely change how you search for opportunities. FedEx is suing for a refund days after the IEEPA tariffs were struck down by the Supreme Court. According to this CNBC article, the suit does not say how much FedEx has paid in IEEPA tariffs. But, the article notes that in September, FedEx had said that it expected it would take a $1 billion hit to its earnings for the fiscal year because of U.S. trade policies, not all of which involved IEEPA duties. 📉 The largest ports on the West Coast of the United States are warning of a sharp decline in import cargo volumes due to higher tariffs on goods from China. This could lead to job losses and higher prices across the country. 👷 Mario Cordero, CEO of the Port of Long Beach, noted that the port's activities support about 2.7 million jobs, and negative changes will be felt far beyond the cargo terminals. ⚠️ Gene Seroka, CEO of the Port of Los Angeles, predicts a 35% drop in cargo arrivals in just two weeks, as major retailers and manufacturers have suspended shipments from China.
