TEKsystems' State of Digital Transformation report tracking thousands of organizations reveals the transformation priorities. Yet the same research shows only 35% of businesses achieve their transformation objectives. The primary failure mode: focusing on technology deployment while neglecting cultural and behavioral change. Here's the disconnect. What gets transformation budgets and executive focus: - AI implementation and model deployment across workflows - Cloud migration and infrastructure modernization programs - Data platform upgrades and analytics capability building - Process automation and workflow digitization initiatives - Customer experience platforms and digital channel expansion What remains completely unchanged despite being the fundamental coordination behavior: - How teams actually schedule, structure, and conduct meetings - Whether meetings have clear objectives before they get scheduled - The default patterns generating recurring series that persist by habit - Invitation practices that bloat attendance without improving outcomes - The absence of data showing where meeting time actually goes One CTO told us, "We spent $12 million on our digital transformation. Migrated to cloud, deployed AI agents, modernized our data platform. Our engineering teams still spend 18 hours weekly in unstructured meetings with vague objectives and no agendas.
