Linus Trovalds uses end to end ECC on his work computer. He said once he actually had a miscompile causing a crash in the kernel that was likely attributed to a random bit flip. I looked into this and this is actually not as rare as I thought. Dram will have 5-10 bit flips a month. Should all developers compiling production code be equipped with ECC enabled computers?

I’ve been experimenting with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and decided to hook it up to one of my ham radios. So I built an MCP server for FlexRadio SmartSDR. Github Link: https://lnkd.in/gemyVeR5 This exposes the radio as a set of tools that AI agents can call: • tune frequency • read signal meters • change RF power • switch antennas Which means an AI agent can now interact with a real radio station. I’m especially interested in what happens next: AI agents that stay on a band and monitor for activity agents that decode CW and suggest replies AI-assisted DX hunting fully autonomous listening stations Ham radio has always been about experimentation.
