If you think GCC High and CMMC are slowing things down, wait until you try to staff without a pipeline. On July 18, the DoD issued a memo tightening security requirements across the board. Everything from software approvals to infrastructure deployment will now go through stricter reviews for supply chain risk and foreign influence. Translation for anyone running a project: You don’t just need secure systems. You need cleared, compliant people, and you need them fast. Here’s the challenge: • You need U.S. citizens with clearance or eligibility • They need real experience in GCC High, Azure Gov, FedRAMP, and DFARS 7012 • Certifications like CISSP, and CMMC-AB are becoming the baseline, not the bonus If your recruiting partner doesn’t have a ready pipeline of these people, and your project kicks off in a few weeks, you’re already behind. Most recruiting firms aren’t built for this niche. They’re Googling acronyms while you’re trying to get resources through onboarding. And as this need increases, the people already qualified will be even more difficult to find. That’s why the hiring strategy has to evolve just as fast as the compliance landscape.
