Allyship was the thread running through everything we did this #PrideMonth— from when we raised rainbow flags at our sites to the parades we joined and the candid conversations we hosted. Each moment reminded me how powerful #TeamHealthineers is when we show up for one another and put our values into action. When I was asked to reflect on what it means to be an ally, I shared a triangle model that often appears in challenging situations: the victim, the aggressor, and the witness. Of the three, the witness holds the greatest power to shift the outcome. Whether offering quiet support to the person affected or directly addressing harmful behavior, witnesses can turn good intentions into real impact and foster a more inclusive environment. That’s what allyship is all about — choosing to act, even when it feels uncomfortable. It’s how we move from intention to impact and create a culture where everyone feels seen, valued, and safe to be themselves. I recognize these conversations can be sensitive, especially across different cultural contexts. But through openness and a genuine willingness to understand one another, I’m confident we can keep building a workplace —and a community — that celebrates each individual and promotes a stronger sense of belonging.
