– React2Shell is one of those issues that quietly slips into a codebase – Many teams assume React automatically means security but that is only partly true – This vulnerability usually appears when user input is rendered or processed without proper validation – In that situation an attacker can slowly escalate the impact up to code execution – React does a good job preventing XSS by default – Problems start when patterns like dangerouslySetInnerHTML or eval are used carelessly – Mixing those patterns with user controlled data is where React2Shell really happens – Fixing this issue is mostly about good habits – User input should always be validated and sanitized even if it looks harmless – dangerouslySetInnerHTML should only be used with fully trusted content – Keeping dependencies updated and reviewing code from a security angle makes a big difference – Frontend security should be taken seriously – At the end of the day secure applications come from thoughtful coding decisions. #CyberSecurity #ApplicationSecurity #WebSecurity #FrontendSecurity #ReactJS #JavaScript #SecureCoding #WebDevelopment #SoftwareEngineering #BugBounty #React2Shell

I wanted to respectfully point out a timeline concern: - Kubernetes was released in 2014 (~11 years ago) - AWS EKS launched in 2018 (~7 years ago) - ArgoCD was created in 2018 (~7 years ago) - Terraform was released in 2014 (~11 years ago) Given these timelines, requiring 15+ years of hands-on experience with these specific technologies isn't realistic.
