The coaching industry has exploded in the last decade. This is both a good thing, and a bad thing, in my opinion. A good thing, because our world could certainly use more of a coaching-based approach. A bad thing, because the word "coaching" is often used very loosely —often without training, credentials, or (importantly) a foundation of what it means to uphold standards and ethics in this field. One thing I really like about this new coach training and certification program from Trio Coaching Academy is that it a) is based on ICF core competencies, and b) clearly states the models and frameworks that it is built on. The current pricing is a steal. Who is responsible for oversight and leading our ASCM association? In any enterprise—nonprofit or for-profit—the answer is clear. The Board governs, the CEO runs the organization, and leadership executes. When financial and business health deteriorate to the point of visible instability, it signals a breakdown in governance, accountability, or execution—or all three. At that point, responsibility is no longer theoretical; it is operational, fiduciary, and immediate.  So let’s fix it and get started—right now (in December 2025).
