AI-related funding continues to flow. US-based startup Luma AI, which focuses on visual content generation, has raised $900 million at a rumored $4 billion valuation. Luma is developing what they call "advanced AI systems" that learn from multiple data types, including video, audio, and text. Part of the company's funding is going towards building a 2-gigawatt compute cluster, among the world’s largest, which the startup will use to train its models. In October, the company released Ray3, a reasoning model that creates videos, animations, and visuals, which the company claims performs better than OpenAI’s Sora on multiple benchmarks and is similar in performance to Google's Veo 3.
