Earning your Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential from the ICF (International Coaching Federation) is a valuable step for coaches, particularly those starting their careers or integrating coaching into their professional practice. It signifies a commitment to professional standards, provides a foundation for growth, and enhances credibility in the coaching field. Here's why the ICF ACC credential is a worthwhile investment: 1. The second session I attended at #ICFConverge explored how career coaching fuels both personal and organizational transformation. The panel, featuring leaders from ICF, Randstad RiseSmart, SAP, and Allianz, shared research showing that career coaching doesn’t just improve mobility and retention — it enhances cultural transformation. When coaching becomes part of the ecosystem, engagement rises for both coaches and coachees. I was especially intrigued by Allianz’s approach of offering coaching access to all employees, not just senior leaders. Their results speak volumes: higher awareness, stronger readiness for next roles, and measurable shifts in culture. A few insights I’m carrying forward: • Start small, but align coaching directly to business strategy. • Coaching should always be voluntary. • AI can support — but never replace — the human connection that drives reflection and growth. As a room host, I got to witness just how energized people are about scaling coaching ethically and inclusively. The future of coaching at work feels bright and beautifully human. How Effective are you as a Board Member? Most board members assume effectiveness is about experience, insight, and oversight. Egon Zehnder challenges that assumption. Effectiveness at the board level is less about what you know— and more about how you show up inside the system. Here’s the uncomfortable part: • Many directors overestimate their contribution • Boards confuse participation with impact • Constructive challenge is often replaced by polite alignment The result? A board that looks functional… but doesn’t truly shape outcomes. According to Egon Zehnder, high-impact board members do three things differently: → They elevate the conversation, not just contribute to it → They challenge with intent, not ego → They create clarity, especially when ambiguity rises This is not about being the smartest person in the room.
