This highlights China’s inability to be a stabilizing regional actor or mediator—a niche it is building for itself in West Asia—in South Asia owing to its national interest driven biased approach to regional conflicts."

🔇 I'm very pleased to share that my report 'Marching Beyond the Margins' for Council for Strategic and Defense Research is out now! It is the first and only deep dive into what the Indian Army and civilian authorities can do to advance Women's meaningful participation in the Indian Army! 🪖 India has one of the lowest numbers of women in the army at <1%. 📉 Recent SC-driven changes remain insufficient. 🤷‍♂️ Beneath the surface, there is much policy confusion and vacillation on the Gender equality question. Lt Gen Deependra Hooda and I offer concrete gender-responsive reform options to the Indian Army to meaningfully integrate uniformed women across roles and ranks, beyond the margins! UNFPA has issued an RFQ for upscaling and strengthening blockchain-based multi-platform coordination mechanism for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). This is a unique use of blockchain technology for a survivor-centred GBV response.
