The public discussion around U.S. Hispanics has been incomplete, politically charged or just wrong lately. Hispanics are the U.S.'s greatest asset, so we are cutting through the noise with our new Nielsen #Hispanic DIS report, "Curating the Narrative," which is officially live TODAY! https://lnkd.in/gyHu8SbH As per usual, it’s full of facts that show how this audience is shaping its own media world, and being selective about exactly what content they let in... and it offers clear, actionable opportunities for brands. A few insights I’m super excited about: 1. Uncovering the digital investment gap: Our AdIntel data helped us find a big blind spots. For example...less than 1% of digital ad spend from U.S. online retailers went to Spanish-language websites in Q1 2025. This is a huge, untapped investment opportunity for brands to connect with an audience that spends a significant amount of time online- oh and YouTube was a top spot to invest! 2. Social media as a direct sales channel: Hispanics digital-first behavior translates directly to commerce activity. A majority (51%) of Hispanic consumers frequently buy products they see advertised in their social media feeds and more cool stats. 3. World Cup warm up! With the 2026 World Cup coming, Hispanic fans are the engine of U.S. soccer’s growth. They are 39% more likely to be avid soccer fans, making them the essential audience for sponsors to engage. A huge thank you to the entire team, from product and comms to marketing, who poured so much into this Katharine Olsen, Charlene Polite Corley, Mariko Carpenter, Drew English, Brian Fuhrer, Jon Miller and more... Every year, for Women’s History Month, when I was on the City Council, I’d celebrate a plethora of women, publicly recognizing them for their contributions to our great city. My colleagues on the Council always supported me and joined in on helping create the Girls Empowerment Summit, to let girls learn about non-traditional roles in STEM, the trades, and public safety. Together, we highlighted teachers, coaches, doctors, athletes, first responders, business women and those who broke the glass ceiling. Together, we taught our girls to be bold and unapologetic about being their genuine self and chasing their dreams. This month’s issue of San Antonio Magazine showcases three incredible women, and I am honored to be a part of this special issue. Spring tends to bring fast changes in Tulsa. One day it's cold, and then suddenly it's time for outdoor events, yard projects, and sunshine afternoons. These quick shifts affect what people search for and when they search for it. Spotting those changes early is key. As an ad agency in Tulsa, we keep a close eye on how local behavior shifts with the season. That includes more than just warm weather. It’s also about school breaks, allergy spikes, and neighborhood festivals. We rely on those patterns to help businesses show up when the timing is just right. The better we understand how searches change, the easier it is to plan online ads, blogs, and social posts that make sense to our audience. How Search Trends Shift with the Weather in Tulsa When spring starts to show up in Tulsa, it’s not just the temperature that changes, search habits do too. People go from indoor-focused searches to outdoor needs real quick. We notice interest pick up on things like lawn care, patio installs, allergy meds, and festival tickets. Local routines get thrown into motion around the same time: - Spring break means families look for events, camps, or getaway ideas - Schools update calendars, shifting focus to graduations or summer planning - Homeowners kick off early repairs or clean-ups after winter For us, it’s about spotting those moves before they hit peak. If we know what people will likely be searching for in March or April, we can line up content that speaks directly to those needs. The change from indoor to outdoor activities can be seen in how residents plan their weekends. After months of colder weather, the community starts looking forward to getting outside and refreshing their homes and yards. This energy shift influences what people are interested in and how they spend their free time, which also affects what they're searching for online. It's a transition that happens quickly and often catches businesses by surprise if they aren't monitoring these trends. Tools Ad Agencies Use to Track Seasonal Keywords We don’t guess what’s trending. We track it. There are several tools we use to watch for seasonal keyword changes in Tulsa and the surrounding towns. - Google Trends shows us what’s gaining interest, and we can search by region - Keyword planners (like those tied to ad platforms) help us dig deeper into search volume based on Tulsa zip codes - Local search plugins keep us focused on phrases commonly used nearby That regional filter matters. Search behavior in Tulsa doesn’t always match what’s trending nationwide. We use these tools to compare what people searched for last year around the same time. Year-over-year data helps us spot what’s constant and what’s new. If searches for spring HVAC checks always pop up around mid-March, we can plan our work around it. Keyword tracking is especially important when planning campaigns well in advance.
