Salesforce Revenue Cloud Advanced Invoice Management vs Salesforce Revenue Cloud Billing. Which is right for me? I have been asked several times how I regard RCA vs RCB for customers seeking a billing solution. Let's start with what RCA with Invoice Management is intended to be. RCA with IM provides a seamless option for generating an invoice on the Salesforce platform. For those already taking advantage of Revenue Cloud for Quoting and Ordering it can be a great option without the need for more. And it does an admirable job of doing just that. It is an especially compelling option for organizations that want to keep their Accounts Receivable function in the ERP and simply want to create an invoice that the ERP can consume. Conversely, RCB is full-on billing and includes features like Payments, Collections, native Invoice document composition, General Ledger and dual entry Journaling. it is a product suited for those without an ERP or looking to move more capabilities on to the Salesforce Platform from an ERP that may be lacking. RCB is a complete re-architecture of the Salesforce Billing solution that it replaces and it comes with expanded ability to consume wider use cases. It does not include RevRec, but RightRev forms a great addition for anyone looking to make that a feature of the platform. And, of course, Avalara for taxes is available to both options. RCB does come with some added dependencies for implementation and setup is arguably more involved than its predecessor, but once in place it is up to the task. There is no wrong answer, just the right fit for your business needs.
