Introducing the Dragonfly airframe concept    Our design takes inspiration from nature and engineering efficiency:  ✨ Tailless biplane configuration – for stability in water. The intrinsic high stability catamaran-like configuration allows for higher quality measurements through the sonar. ✨ Watertight fuselage – allowing the UAV to float while carrying mission payloads, efficiently protecting the electronical components.   ✨ Aft-mounted sonar – allowing underwater data gathering while floating.  ✨ VTOL – vertical takeoff and landing for island-hopping operations around the 24 000 islands of the Stockholm Archipelago!   This concept is shaped by our mission: a 5 kg UAV, capable of flying approximately 50 km while seamlessly bridging air and sea.    Here’s the first look at how Dragonfly will take shape 👇    We’re excited to share more as our design evolves!    For questions, collaborations, or ideas, feel free to reach out to this profile or to contact Elena Piora at piora@kth.se!

Watch our OverDrive autonomy stack pilot a Polaris RZR through a complex forested environment characterized by tall pines and low oaks. The challenge is determining what vegetation is crushable, what must be avoided, and how to find the way to the next checkpoint under dense canopy that makes satellite data unusable. Everything about this environment is hard for autonomy: it is hard to see due to the undergrowth, hard to plan when the vehicle can perceive nothing but trees, and hard to steer the vehicle through narrow gaps between the pines. This is real-time (1x) video of Overland’s ground autonomy in action. True off-road navigation with only onboard sensing and compute.

#ICYMI: Video of Firestorm Labs’ modular Tempest drone conducting a successful terminal guidance test at NPS' Joint Interagency Field Experimentation (JIFX) ... "JIFX is important to Firestorm because it allows us access to some airspace that we otherwise don't normally get. Additionally, there's a bunch of partners that also operate at JIFX that really want to work with Firestorm. And we're really excited to be able to work these companies and add their cutting-edge technologies to our Tempest to bolster its capability in the field,” said Rosario Aiello, Firestorm’s integrations group leader.
