We built our image comparison algorithm in a two-day hackathon. Engineers and QAs in a room together, building something from scratch. The first version took 30 seconds per compute. It wasn't production-ready. But it proved the concept that we could take a screenshot, find an element, and determine its location, size, and text. Today, that same process runs in under 100 milliseconds. The lesson I keep coming back to: don't wait until something is perfect to start. 🚀 Excited to announce the launch of vue-persian - a new GitHub organization dedicated to building high-quality Vue.js tools for Persian language support! After years of working with Persian/Farsi applications and constantly writing the same RTL, digit conversion, and date formatting code, I decided to create reusable solutions that the entire Vue.js community can benefit from. 📦 Current Project: @vue-persian/composables A comprehensive TypeScript library featuring: - Direction management (RTL/LTR) - Persian & Western digit conversion - Persian number formatting with proper separators - Jalali (Persian) calendar support - Currency formatting (Rial/Toman) - Persian text normalization - Smart input handling The library is production-ready, fully typed, and tested with Vitest. 💡 What's Next? Had the pleasure of attending Code.Digest at Microsoft Canada today, organized by Alex Pshul . 👏 The event was packed with great talks, but the panel discussion with April Gittens ,Alfredo Deza , and Anthony Bartolo really stood out. They touched on some key aspects of building AI systems: - April’s perspective on bias in AI systems and the ethical considerations when building and consuming AI was thought-provoking. - Alfredo emphasized the importance of bringing your own story to the table, having expertise in different domainswhile building can give you and edge and his enthusiasm for building things was palpable. - Anthony wrapped it up perfectly with a reminder about hustling and always learning, a message especially powerful for new grads starting their journey. All in all, a day full of insights, discussions, and inspiration. Excited to keep learning and applying these perspectives in my own work! 🚀

I've started writing articles about a project Serhat Uluç and I have been working on a #multiTenant e-commerce platform built with #Django. Django doesn’t natively support a multi-tenant architecture, so we had to design a solution that works with a single database and single schema approach. To make this possible and maintainable, we leveraged #ContextManager and #contextvars, which turned out to be powerful tools for building a clean and reliable tenant-aware system. Hi ELIZABETH OMIGIE, thanks for sharing this! I see a lot of value in your advice, especially the focus on depth over breadth and building 𝟯-𝟰 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗼𝘇𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀. Speaking from the perspective of a computer science student, I think there are a few nuances beginners should consider. 1. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝗺𝗽 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗖𝗥𝗨𝗗 𝗮𝗽𝗽. For someone still learning the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, a full-scale CRUD system can be overwhelming. Starting with a smaller project that gradually builds CRUD skills might make it easier to gain confidence before moving to professional-level apps. 2. 𝗔𝗣𝗜 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. Many beginners struggle with asynchronous requests, authentication, and error handling. Starting with simple mock APIs or free open APIs can help build practical skills without getting stuck on complex integrations like GitHub analyzers or crypto dashboards. 3. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. Building a personal project is motivating, but beginners often freeze if they don’t know what problem to solve. Sharing examples of small, achievable problems that still demonstrate skill could make this step more accessible. 4. 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻-𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁. Collaboration is important for employability, but beginners might feel intimidated jumping into existing codebases. Starting with smaller contributions like fixing typos, improving documentation, or adding minor features can help ease them in. Also, I want to acknowledge that the “𝟭𝟰 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱” you mentioned was actually a 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘆𝗲-𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿. Even if you felt lost at the time, that experience likely gave you insights that many beginners won’t get without going through similar trial and error. Overall, I agree that strategic projects are better than random tutorials for getting hired. But for students like me, it might help to scale complexity gradually, using these projects to grow confidence while still aligning with what employers expect in 2026.
