Use Custom Field Mapping Tool for CRM Entities

Last updated: 7 months ago

LinkedIn Sales Navigator provides a Custom Field Mapping Tool to map standard fields within Sales Navigator with custom fields within your CRM, largely for the purpose of better matching. Using this tool, you can customize mapping between CRM entities and LinkedIn entities. You can map one custom CRM field with only one LinkedIn entity. You can map fields for all features - writeback, contact, lead creation, account, and so on. Modifying field mapping will trigger an ingestion and it may take up to 2 days for the data to refresh.

Who can use this feature?

The Custom Field Mapping Tool is available only to Sales Navigator admin users. Currently, only Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics offer the ability to custom map fields.

The following are not supported:

  • Mapping multiple CRM fields with the same standard LinkedIn entity.
  • Mapping to multiple custom CRM fields with custom data with unique attributes that do not map to standard LinkedIn entities.
  • Mapping to Custom Objects or Custom Entities (note this is field level mapping).
  • Mapping with the intent to export new data points from Sales Navigator (Sales Navigator only exports certain fields, despite remapping).

To use the Custom Mapping Tool:

  1. Sign in to Sales Navigator.

  2. Click Admin and then Admin Settings.

  3. In the left rail, click CRM Mapping

The subsequent page displays all fields with their mapping settings.

  4. Click Edit.

  5. In the CRM Mapping screen, review the list of LinkedIn entities and then choose the new custom fields from your CRM that you would like to map each entity to.

  6. If you've previously made mapping changes to your sandbox environment and would like to replicate those changes into the production environment, or vice versa, click Copy from Sandbox or Copy from Production respectively.

  7. Review the changes that you've made in the subsequent pop-ups and click Confirm

These changes could take up to 48 hours to reflect in your CRM.

  8. At a later point, if you would like to revert all custom field mapping changes to the default settings, click the Reset All option.
