Starting February 10, 2026, LinkedIn is updating how Job Views are measured to improve accuracy and better reflect authentic candidate engagement.
Check out some frequently asked questions below.
What’s changing?
We’re updating the Job Views metric in LinkedIn reporting to exclude:
- Guest Job Views (views from people not logged into LinkedIn)
- Views of closed jobs (jobs that are no longer active)
These changes apply across LinkedIn reporting, including in-product analytics and exported reports.
Why is LinkedIn making this change?
Some Job Views came from activity that didn’t reflect real job-seeker engagement, such as third-party site indexing or views on closed jobs. Including this activity made it harder to understand true job performance.
This update ensures Job Views focus on authentic engagement from active job seekers and provides clearer, more reliable performance insights.
Will historical Job Views data be updated?
Yes. Starting February 10, all historical Job Views data will be refreshed to remove Guest Job Views and views of closed jobs. This keeps past and future reporting consistent and comparable.
What will change in my reporting?
After February 10, you may notice:
- Fewer Job Views
- Higher Apply Rates
- Minimal change to Apply Clicks or applicant volume
These changes reflect the removal of non-candidate and closed-job activity.
What is not changing?
This update affects reporting only. There is no change to:
- Job delivery
- Job visibility
- How your roles are promoted on LinkedIn
Why remove Guest Job Views if some were real?
Guest activity couldn’t be consistently verified as job-seeker intent. Removing it ensures Job Views remain accurate, stable, and trustworthy.
Why do my metrics look different after February 10?
Your reporting now reflects engagement from real job seekers only. As a result, Job Views may decrease and Apply Rates may increase.
Does this affect my contract or billing?
No. This update does not affect pricing, billing, or contract terms.
