Go to Post a job and start by entering the role you’re hiring for. If you click Continue, Hiring Pro will help you draft a job post. To use other features like finding and inviting qualified candidates daily or AI-assisted applicant sorting, you’ll need to promote your job. 

This feature is gradually being rolled out and may not be available to you at this time. Hiring Pro is currently available only to a subset of English-speaking members who promote their jobs.

No, you don’t have to use Hiring Pro. To opt out of Hiring Pro features, either post your job for free or go to the Job Details page, click the  icon, and select Switch to classic experience.

Hiring Pro makes recommendations based on your inputs and runs all AI-created content through our content filters. While we take safety precautions, the feature may produce surprises or mistakes. You should review all recommendations and make necessary edits. As the job poster, you and your organization are responsible for the final job post and hiring decisions, and you may need to add additional information or follow specific processes as required by law. 

No, Hiring Pro will not make hiring decisions for you. It will make recommendations and assist with tasks like drafting job descriptions, sorting applicants according to your settings, and finding and inviting candidates to apply. However, the final hiring decisions, including whom to hire, remain with you. You, the job poster, are responsible for reviewing and verifying information surfaced by Hiring Pro before making any hiring decisions.

When you are posting a job and click Continue, the AI-assistant will use the job title you provide, information from your company’s LinkedIn page, and your LinkedIn profile to draft a job description for your job post. See the Learn more section below for related FAQs. 

Qualifications are the must-have and preferred experiences or skills that you set when posting your job. Hiring Pro suggests qualifications from your job description as a starting point, and it is recommended that you always review and edit your job’s qualifications. These qualifications are different from the qualifications you may include in your job description and are not seen by job seekers. You’ll be able to review and refine the qualifications and can edit them throughout your hiring process.

Note that if you edit your qualifications, that will not change your job post. Applicants that have already been advanced or rejected may not have the new qualifications. You may be legally obligated to create a new job post and start a new applicant pool.

When you promote your job, Hiring Pro helps you find qualified candidates faster. It uses your feedback to understand your ideal candidate using the qualifications you set. 

Hiring Pro will then suggest up to 25 candidates daily who match most of your qualifications. You can review each suggested candidate and invite them to apply, or let Hiring Pro invite all 25 daily for you. Hiring Pro will continue to invite its suggested candidates until you reach 10 top-fit applicants based on your qualifications. You can turn off this setting at any point.

LinkedIn uses your job description and the ideal qualifications you chose for the role to identify job seekers who may be open to new opportunities. These candidates typically have the experiences, skills, and qualifications you’re looking for, as listed on their resumes and LinkedIn profiles. However, matches may not always meet your set qualifications, for example due to market conditions or possible AI inaccuracies.  

LinkedIn uses your feedback and your qualifications to refine its search for potential candidates. If a job seeker matches most of your qualifications, LinkedIn will continue to find similar candidates. If a job seeker doesn’t meet your criteria, you can provide feedback on why or adjust your qualifications. This helps improve the quality of future matches shown to you by Hiring Pro. Note that adjusting your qualifications does not change your job post.

Hiring Pro sorts applicants based on your must-have qualifications and the number of preferred qualifications the applicants meet. You can adjust the number of preferred qualifications that “top fit” applicants need to meet at any time by updating the top applicant threshold in your qualification settings.

• Top fit: Applicants who meet all the must-have qualifications and a set number of your  preferred qualifications. You can adjust this threshold at any time. 
• Not a fit: Applicants who meet most but not all of your must-have qualifications.
• Maybe: Applicants who do not meet most of your must-have qualifications, are from a different country than your hiring location, or fail one or more essential screening questions.

If your job has less than 10 applicants who meet all your must-have qualifications, Hiring Pro will expand the pool to surface the best of those who have applied to your job in the top fit list. You can choose to turn off this feature by adjusting your qualification settings. If turned off, your top fits will only be those who meet 100% of must have quals.

You can also move applicants between lists or change how applicants are ordered within a list (by qualification match, date applied, or alphabetical order) or filter within a list (by location or years of experience) through the dropdowns at the top of the list. It’s important to review and edit your settings for sorting applicants. In the case Hiring Pro is unsure whether a candidate meets a qualification, this will be indicated by a grey question mark (?).

Hiring Pro will show whether an applicant meets each qualification based on the applicant’s profile and resume. How the applicant matches each qualification is indicated with the following four icons:

• Match (green checkmark icon) - the applicant meets the qualification
• Partial Match (half green checkmark icon) - the applicant shows some evidence or matches part of the qualification
• Not a match (X icon) - the applicant does not meet the qualification
• Cannot evaluate (question mark icon) - the information was not specific enough to draw a conclusion or cannot be evaluated

Hiring Pro will review information from each applicant’s resume, screening question answers, and LinkedIn profile and compare it against the must have and preferred qualifications you set for the role. Based on this information, Hiring Pro provides an AI‑generated evaluation and places applicants into lists such as Top fit, Maybe, or Not a fit. These evaluations are meant to help you review applicants more efficiently, but you’re always in control of final hiring decisions and can move applicants into different lists at any time.

To see the source of the qualification details, click Show more details while reviewing each applicant’s qualifications. This will display whether the information comes from the candidate's LinkedIn profile, resume (either submitted with application, or stored on LinkedIn), or screening questions (if applicable).

You can modify the top applicant threshold within your qualifications. Adjusting your qualifications or top applicant threshold will change the sorting of your applicants. You can also manually move applicants into a different list using Move to dropdown, and change the sorting of applicants within a list to be based on qualification match, date applied, or alphabetical order under Sort dropdown. 

Yes, updating your qualifications will result in a re-evaluation of all applicants based on your latest qualifications, and applicants will be re-sorted. Hiring Pro will not move any applicants that you’ve already moved to different lists, but it will update to show how the applicant meets your updated qualifications. This process can take several seconds. Note that if you edit your qualifications, that will not change your job post. Applicants that have already been advanced or rejected may not have the new qualifications. 

Note that if you change your qualifications, you may be legally obligated to create a new job post and start a new applicant pool.

Our objective is to ensure equally qualified members receive equal treatment by our models. As with all our products, our teams continuously assess our systems, and if harmful biases are identified, we will work to address them. 

Shortlisting is a way to help you organize and manage applicants you want to move forward with or review again later. Shortlisting doesn’t change how Hiring Pro evaluates applicants and Hiring Pro will never shortlist applicants for you.

You can find your shortlist from the Applicants tab within Hiring Pro. Within Applicants, use the drop‑down to switch between different applicant lists (Shortlist, Top Fit, Maybe, Not a Fit).

You can move applicants between lists directly from each applicant’s profile. Once you’ve selected an applicant, select the Move to drop‑down on an applicant’s profile and choose where you want them to go. You can move applicants between Top fit, Maybe, Not a fit, and your shortlist.

All applicants who apply to your job can be found in the Applicants tab. Hiring Pro automatically organizes applicants into lists — Top fit, Maybe, or Not a fit — based on how they match your job qualifications. To view all applicants, use the drop‑down in the Applicants tab to switch between each list and review those who have applied. 

The Hiring Plan tab provides an overview of your hiring process, including applicant statistics, job details, budget, and helpful links. It allows you to: 

• Review all applicants 
• Track how many candidates have been invited to apply
• Monitor your spending or close your job 
• Contact LinkedIn support

• Edit your role’s qualifications
