Assigned Inboxes in LinkedIn Recruiter appear when you reassign a license to another user, or once you complete a data transfer from one or more seats to an entirely different dashboard. Assigned Inboxes store the InMail data tied to the previous license holder.
You can view the assigned inboxes at the bottom of the message pane within your Recruiter Inbox.
Recruiters have two ways they can see an Assigned Inbox in Recruiter:
A seat owner whose Inbox was reassigned to another user can retrieve their Inbox when an Inbox user reassigns them their previous license. This action allows the seat owner to restore their view of the original inbox, in their My Messages inbox. This inbox will only be accessible by the original seat holder and will not appear under Assigned Inboxes of the reassigned user.

When you reply to messages using an Assigned Inbox, you see the following behaviors:
As the owner of an Assigned Inbox, you can grant candidate insights permissions from within the Assigned Inbox (e.g., notes, tags, reminders, and so on).
If you don’t have access to the project, the global candidate slide-in profile card appears. You can update the profile card per your hiring process needs.
If you make changes to a candidate’s insights (e.g., adding a new note, tag, attachment, and so on) from within the Assigned Inbox, those changes are associated with the current Inbox owner’s name.
A linked prospect is a prospect a recruiter has messaged or added to a pipeline. During a cross-contract seat transfer, any conversation with a linked prospect may become unlinked if that prospect isn’t part of the destination contract. Only prospects owned by the transferring seat move with the reassignment. When a prospect is unlinked, you’ll see only their email address with a notice that the prospect is unlinked.
