Upload documents to a candidate's profile in Recruiter

Last updated: 1 year ago

You can upload a document to the Attachments section of a candidate’s profile in LinkedIn Recruiter. When you upload a document, you must specify if the document is a resume. A file must be less than 5MB and be one of the following file types: .xls, .xlsx, .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .pdf, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png.

To upload a document to a candidate's profile in Recruiter:

  1. Run a search in Recruiter.

  2. On a candidate’s profile, click Attachments.

  3. Click the Upload button and select Resume or Other.

  4. Select the file and click Open.

Below are some things to keep in mind about attachments:

  • If a candidate submits a resume during the application process, it will automatically be tagged as a resume. Manually uploaded documents must be tagged as "Resume" or "Other".
  • You can preview documents directly from the Attachments section of the candidate’s profile without having to download and open them. You can't preview image file types (.gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png). Files containing spam, virus, or illegal content may be blocked and cannot be previewed.
  • If a document is too large to preview, you can click the  Download icon to download the attachment. All document files will be downloaded in PDF format and all images will be downloaded in JPEG format even if the file was originally uploaded in a different format. If you see unavailable files, it could be due to one of the following reasons:
    • There was a processing error
    • The document file type is unsupported
    • The document is empty
    • The document is corrupted
    • The file contains too many images, words, or pages
  • If a candidate submits a resume during the application process, it can’t be deleted. Manually uploaded resumes or other documents can only be deleted by the user who uploaded them. Click the  Delete icon next to an attachment to delete it from the candidate's profile.
