The Verified Applicant Spotlight helps recruiters easily identify applicants verified by LinkedIn's trusted network, reducing the risk of fake applicants and saving time.
How the Verified Applicant Spotlight works
Verified Applicants is available as a Spotlight on the Applicant Management page. You can filter your applicant pool by clicking the Verified Applicant Spotlight at the top of the page.
A verification badge icon also appears next to the name of each Verified Applicant or Apply Starter. When the badge is clicked, a hovercard will appear with details about what profile information (workplace, education, or government ID) has been verified.
Who are Verified Applicants
Verified Applicants are LinkedIn members who have completed one or more identity verification steps on LinkedIn. Members verify their identity to signal authenticity and build trust within the LinkedIn network.
Members can verify their identity through LinkedIn using secure methods, such as:
-
Government-issued ID verification
-
Workplace or education verification, including email domain-based verification
Verification is optional and visible on members’ profiles.
Important to know
Additional availability details
The Verified Applicant Spotlight is currently unavailable for Jobs and Connected Projects with locations in the European Economic Area (EEA).
If you don’t see the spotlight and believe your project has a non-EEA location, the project location may not be standardized correctly.
How to troubleshoot
- Go to Project settings > Location.
- Select Edit and retype the location to manually update the field.
- Choose a location from the dropdown list to ensure it’s saved as a standardized location for the project.
Note: For Connected Projects, you may need to turn off the Keep project details in sync with requisition setting before editing the project location.
Even if you manually update the project location, the Verified Applicant Spotlight won’t appear if the connected ATS requisition location is standardized and within the EEA.
