Go live instantly with Zoom

Important to know

We’re evolving LinkedIn Live to make it simpler, more discoverable, and more impactful for our members. Starting June 22, 2026 all live events must be scheduled ahead of time. While the ability to go live spontaneously will no longer be available, you can still go live on short notice by scheduling your event just minutes in advance. Learn more about how to create a LinkedIn Event or Schedule from a third-party broadcast tool.

This article outlines the step-by-step instructions for going live on LinkedIn instantly using a custom stream (RTMP) from a Zoom Meeting. To make the most of your event, we recommend scheduling your event ahead of time instead. Before you can go live, enable custom live streaming in Zoom.

You must meet the following criteria to access LinkedIn Live:

  • Access criteria to create and host LinkedIn Lives. Tigger a review of the Page or Profile to check if you fulfill the criteria.

  • If streaming to a LinkedIn Page, the person facilitating the stream must be a super or content poster Page admin.

Set up custom stream on LinkedIn

  1. Go to LinkedIn's Live Studio.

  2. Under New stream, select Go live now.

  3. Under Create a post, select the LinkedIn Profile or Page you want to stream to from, and compose your post.

  4. Under Your stream details, add a Title for your stream.

  5. In Stream settings tab, pick your region.

    • Not all regions have a dedicated source in the Region dropdown list. If you don’t see your region, you can still go live by selecting the region closest to you. Each region is allocated a certain bandwidth, and sometimes regions run out of available bandwidth. If this happens, try selecting another region close to you.
  6. Click Get URL to generate the Stream URL and Stream Key.

  7. Keep LinkedIn's Live Studio open. You'll need it for later steps.

Schedule a meeting in Zoom

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.

  2. Click Meetings.

  3. Click Schedule a Meeting and enter the required information to schedule a meeting.

  4. Click Save.

Start your Zoom stream

  1. Start your Zoom meeting as the host, by doing one of the following:

    • From your calendar: If you have added the meeting to your calendar, click the link displayed on your calendar reminder.
    • From the Zoom website: Sign in to Zoom, find the meeting on the Meetings page, and click Start.
  2. Click the More icon in the host controls then choose Livestream.

  3. Click Live on Custom Live Streaming Service.

You'll be redirected to a new window to enter your custom stream details from your LinkedIn Live Event into Zoom.

Go live on LinkedIn

  1. Go back to LinkedIn's Live Studio.

  2. Copy the Stream URL and Stream Key from Live Studio and paste them into the Zoom custom livestream settings.

  3. In the Live streaming page URL field, enter the URL of the LinkedIn Profile or Page from where you want to stream.

  4. Select the resolution. We recommend selecting Standard 720p resolution for optimal streaming.

  5. Click Go Live! in Zoom.

  6. Go back to LinkedIn's Live Studio to see a preview of your Zoom feed.

    • Make sure to mute from the LinkedIn stream screen. This will allow you to use the microphone and speaker from Zoom.
    • If you're testing this stream, don't click Go live as this will broadcast the event to your audience. If you can view the preview, the connection was successful, and you may end the Zoom session without broadcasting on LinkedIn.
  7. Click Go live when you’re ready to live stream.

  8. Click End stream when you’re done.

The replay will be available on your LinkedIn Event page shortly after ending the stream.
