Test Apply Connect functionality

Last updated: 1 week ago

Before fully activating Apply Connect features, you can conduct a thorough test to ensure everything functions as expected and is fully operational before going live. Below are the steps to guide you through the testing process.

To test job posting and LinkedIn Apply:

  1. Follow the instructions provided from your ATS to enable posting a test job to LinkedIn.

  2. Ensure you label the test job clearly as “<TEST>” in the job title and place "THIS IS A TEST JOB" prominently at the top of the job description.

    Important to know

The test job will be publicly visible on LinkedIn and any member will be able to apply for the job.

  3. Ensure the LinkedIn Apply button is correctly appended to the job posting and that all required screening questions are present.

  4. After verifying the functionality, close the job in your ATS to avoid unwanted applications.

  5. Once testing is completed successfully, you can proceed to post all open positions on LinkedIn, ensuring they are all LinkedIn Apply enabled.

    Here's a tip

If you prefer to disable LinkedIn Apply for all jobs, you can do so within your ATS.

To test in-ATS widgets and applicant notifications:

  1. Navigate to the LinkedIn Onboarding Widget by following the steps provided by your ATS.

  2. Ensure the integration is Enabled, and the applicant notifications continue to stay enabled.

  3. Apply to the test job on LinkedIn and check that the in-ATS widgets and applicant notifications for actions like "application viewed", "resume downloaded", and "application rejected" appear correctly. In-ATS widgets should appear on the applicant list view and for applicant profiles within the ATS.

    Important to know

Applicant notifications will be delivered via email and are visible on the LinkedIn job posting. The "application rejected" notification may take up to 72 hours to appear.

  4. If all systems operate as intended, no additional action is required.

    Here's a tip

If you would prefer to disable applicant notifications, please navigate back to the LinkedIn Onboarding Widget and disable the Applicant notifications checkbox. To disable in-ATS widgets, reach out to LinkedIn Support at ltsatsintegrations@linkedin.com or via LinkedIn’s Help Center.
