Gender discrimination in job posts

Last updated: 3 years ago

LinkedIn prohibits discrimination in job posts based on protected characteristics.

LinkedIn’s job posts policies don’t allow gender requirements or preferences in job posts. Phrases such as “Male applicants only,” “Female applicants preferred,” or ‘Looking to hire a man to fill this role” result in your post being removed from LinkedIn.

All job posters should avoid using gender-specific titles in their job posts, which could result in qualified applicants feeling excluded or unqualified for the role.

For example, use “salesperson wanted” or “sales representative wanted,” rather than “salesman wanted.” Use “waitstaff wanted” or “waiter/waitress wanted,” rather than “waiter wanted.”

A good job title not only helps ensure your job receives the greatest number of qualified applicants but also helps avoid your job from being flagged or removed from LinkedIn.
