After each session, you’ll get detailed feedback, including an interview readiness score, a summary of your strengths and areas to improve, and a transcript of your responses with examples on how to make them stronger. By simulating realistic interview scenarios, it helps you build confidence, surface and close skill gaps, and improve your chances of landing the job you want in a safe, accessible, and effective way.

Since launching pre-configured practice scenarios last year, thousands of LinkedIn learners and members have practiced and gained confidence for workplace conversations and job interviews. Based on member feedback, we’re expanding the discoverability of interview prep scenarios created within AI-powered coaching by integrating it into the job search experience.
Now, with job descriptions on LinkedIn, Premium subscribers will see an option to practice interviewing for any job where they’re a top, high, or medium match for the role. It’s a convenient, safe space to build confidence and identify areas to improve, so they feel ready when it’s time to interview.
Unlike other interview prep tools, LinkedIn’s AI interview prep is:
- Tailored to the job you want: Practice questions are generated from real job descriptions, so every mock interview is unique and role-specific.
- Convenient: Prepare anytime, anywhere right from LinkedIn, where you already search and apply for jobs. No need to copy and paste job descriptions or use extra tools.
- Providing guidance to help you improve: Get instant, personalized feedback with an interview readiness score, plus Learning resources to help you close skill gaps.
- The tool uses AI to create role-specific mock interviews using the job description from job listings on LinkedIn and general knowledge of the role.
- You can practice out loud, and the AI interviewer listens, responds, and evaluates your answers in real time. You also have the option to read and type out your responses to the interview questions.
- After your session, you’ll see AI-generated personalized feedback, including a low/medium/high interview readiness score, a summary of your strengths and areas to improve, and a transcript of your responses with examples on how to improve your answers.
- Reminder: You must be a Premium member to access this feature.
- Find any job on LinkedIn where you’re a top, high, or medium match and open the listing.
- If you have not applied to the job yet:
- On the job post look for “Your AI-powered job assessment” under the “Apply” button.
- Click Practice an interview to get started.
- A new browser tab will open in LinkedIn Learning, where you can conduct your mock interview.
- If you’ve already applied to the job:
- On the job post look for “Take the next step in your job search” in the Premium module near the top of the page.
- Click on “Practice an interview” to get started.

LinkedIn Learning offers you the following number of role play sessions in a single day:
- Max 20 sessions/day
- Max 10 per hour
- Max 5 per 5 min

AI interview prep is powered by Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI API Service to develop a contextual understanding of the scenario and uses a finely tuned dialogue prompt to conduct a realistic, appropriate conversation. Microsoft’s Azure AI Speech is used to convert text responses into audible voice responses, and vice versa.
