Important to know

When admins download learner reports, their selection is based on currently active groups but reporting data is based on group membership at the time of engagement.

The Learner Detail report includes all learning engagement by learners at your organization. It is meant to help you see exactly what content your learners are viewing, their progress, hours viewed and completion information.
Column Name Metric Definition
Name The learner’s full name.
Email The learner’s email address.
Unique User ID The learner’s unique user ID. This user ID is set when a user signs in with SSO or when an admin uploads a CSV with learner information.
Content Name The name of the content viewed by the learner.
Content Provider The provider of the content. Content created or uploaded by your organization is marked with your organization’s name.
Content Type The type of content (e.g. video, learning path, article). When your organization adds a custom link to LinkedIn Learning, our system tries to detect the content type (article, video, etc.).
Content ID The ID of the content.
Hours Viewed The total hours viewed by your learners during the selected time range. If a learner watches 1 hour of content in 30 minutes by using 2x speed, this time counts as 1 hour viewed. If a learner watches the same hour-long course twice, this time counts as 2 hours viewed. If a learner moves the video progress indicator to a different point in the video, they will not add any time to hours viewed. We currently support hours viewed for LinkedIn Learning courses as well as any videos uploaded by your organization. The Hours Viewed metric is formatted in reports as [Hours:Minutes:Seconds]. Note: Hours Viewed data is tracked only for LinkedIn Learning courses and videos uploaded by your organization. Learning paths and articles are not currently included in this metric.
Percent Completed The percent of the content that the learner has completed. We show the progress accumulated by the learner up to the end of the selected time range. If a learner completes 10% of a course in April, 10% in May and completes the course in June, the April report will show 10%, the May report will show 20% and the June report will show 100%.
Started (PST/PDT) The date and time when the learner first viewed this piece of content. If a learner first viewed this content before the selected time range, the date is still shown.
Last Viewed During Selected Time Range (PST/PDT) The date and time when the learner last viewed this piece of content during the report’s selected time range.
Completed Date (PST/PDT) The date the learner completed this piece of content. If a learner completed this content before the selected time range, the date is still shown.
Total Assessments In Course (LinkedIn Learning courses only) The total number of assessments in a course, including chapter quizzes, summative exams, and CEU exams. The count of total assessments must include all assessments that a learner has completed up to the time the report is pulled, even if a date range was previously picked.
Number of Assessments Completed (LinkedIn Learning Courses Only) The number of assessments completed by the learner.
Skills The skills tagged to the content. This data is available for LinkedIn Learning courses and your own content that you’ve tagged with skills.
Course Name (LinkedIn Videos Only) The name of the course that contains this LinkedIn Learning video. This column will be empty for all content types that are not LinkedIn Learning videos.
Course ID (LinkedIn Videos Only) The ID of the course that contains this LinkedIn Learning video. This column will be empty for all content types that are not LinkedIn Learning videos.
Groups (Current Membership) The groups that the learner is currently a member of.
Groups (At Time Of Engagement) The groups that the learner was a member of at the time of engagement. If a learner engaged with the content multiple times during the selected time range, we show all groups that the learner was a member of.
Custom Attributes The custom attributes added by your organization for this learner. When customizing the learner detail report, you can choose between not showing the attributes, showing the attribute values when the learner engaged with the content, or showing the most recent custom attribute value for the learner.
