Understand CEU certificate availability in LinkedIn Learning for Library

Last updated: 4 months ago

LinkedIn Learning works closely with libraries to provide seamless access to high‑quality learning content while protecting patron privacy. As part of this commitment, LinkedIn Learning for Library does not offer downloadable certificates for Continuing Education Unit (CEU) programs.

CEU programs have specific requirements, including the collection of personally identifiable information such as full legal names. To comply with privacy standards, CEU certificates are not supported for Learning for Library accounts.

Here's a tip

Patrons can still download course completion certificates from the remainder of the courses (16,000+) and upload the certificates onto their LinkedIn profile.

Why CEU certificates are not offered for library access

LinkedIn Learning provides Certificates of Completion for all courses available on the platform. Some courses also offer CEU credits through external accrediting organizations.

However, CEU programs require personal information that cannot be collected or stored through library‑provided access. To maintain strong privacy protections for library patrons, a small number of CEU‑approved courses are not available with CEU certification through LinkedIn Learning for Library.

Explore options to earn CEU credits

If you need CEU credits, you can still access eligible programs by creating an individual LinkedIn Learning account or by checking whether LinkedIn Learning is offered through your employer. These options allow you to meet CEU program requirements while continuing to access the same expert‑led content.
