Delete an app associated with your LinkedIn Page

Last updated: 7 months ago

For certain functionality and products, you might have created an app from the LinkedIn Developer Portal and associated it with a LinkedIn Page. If an app is no longer in use, then an option to request deletion for the app will be visible in the Developer Portal in the Settings page.

After you request deletion, the app is deleted from the portal seven days from the date of your request. During this seven-day period, you can revert your decision and cancel deletion of the app.

Deleting an app from the LinkedIn Developer portal implies:

  • You and your team will lose access to the app and its settings.

  • Authentication keys associated with the app will be deactivated and access to all LinkedIn APIs will be lost.

Important to know

If the API usage for your app is high or if there are several admins or team members added to the app recently, you will not be able to request deletion of an app.

To delete an app associated with your LinkedIn Page:

  1. Go to developer.linkedin.com.

  2. Click My apps in the upper-right corner of the page.

  3. From the Settings tab, click Request delete for the app that you want to delete.

  4. In the Request Deletion dialog, check the I understand the impact and wish to proceed with the deletion checkbox.

  5. Click Delete app.

The app will be deleted from the portal within seven days from the date you requested deletion.

Here's a tip

During this seven-day period, if you change your mind and want to cancel deleting this app, you can return to the Settings page, and click Undo delete.
