Claire is back with another question for Sean- what is governance? Sometimes it’s easier to understand with analogies, and Sean uses a great baseball one to explain what it is. P.S. Karen Ganitsky talks a lot about governance in her organization, and *hint hint*, she’ll be one of the speakers at our TICE panel in Raleigh this summer! #governance #LearningandDevelopment #learning

Our April newsletter just dropped... lots in this one! We discuss 'cultural debt' and why we think it needs to be owned by L&D. We also unpack our thinking on how to address blockers to AI adoption in organizations. #AI #culture #culturaldebt #AIadoption #corporatelearning Sean Stowers, Heather Curtin, Loren Sanders, Roberta, William J. Some L&D teams are shaping how their organization uses AI, while others are still at the stage where they're teaching people how to write prompts. Emily Byrne Klope, Learning & Enablement Leader, gives her valuable insight in her recent discussion with Sean: In L&D we have what's quickly becoming “the laggards” group — those still focused on AI adoption, while progressive organizations are already thinking like a strategic business partner. #LearningandDevelopment #Strategy #AI #AIAdoption #AIEnablement

Finishing a workforce program is a milestone. It is not the final step. What happens between completion and employment is where many institutions feel the most pressure: résumé readiness, candidate documentation, screening steps, employer outreach, and follow-through. That part of the learner journey is easy to underestimate and hard to staff consistently. Strong workforce partnerships help close that gap with a clear placement process, human support, and better alignment between training and employer demand. The goal is not just program completion. It is helping more learners move from education into real opportunities. We are thrilled the cat’s out of the bag about our partnership with SCALE Talent Systems. It’s all about bringing skills transparency to the accounting profession. We've been working with them to build an ontology for the profession to allow transparent conversations around skill acquisition, skill development and career progression in accounting. Sean explains why this is such a big deal in the video below. #Accounting #Skills #Performance #Productivity #LearningandDevelopment

How a grassroots AI adoption program turned employees into daily AI users and generated $1.8M in productivity value Diane Gaa did an experiment with a 6-person cohort and her team gained 67 hours of productivity in a single month. The question that followed was: What if I can do this for an entire organization? From there, she developed a 6-week framework, and there was a significant return. Across 104 completers during the initial pilot, the estimated productivity value was $1.8M – the equivalent of 13 full-time employees in capacity gained. What would you do with all that time and money saved? Let us know in the comments below. #AIEnablement #grassroots #LearningandDevelopement https://lnkd.in/eA5j-quB

Some of our challenges can’t be solved by L&D alone and need leadership support. But it is on learning leaders to insert themselves and tell that story of business impact in a way that gets the stakeholders’ attention. Eventually, leadership will move from “oh L&D made this” to “we co-own this with L&D”. Check out Jennifer Myers, MBA, SHRM-CP's wise words below. Let us know your thoughts in the comments. #collaboration #leadership #LearningandDevelopment

SCALE Talent Systems and WeLearn are bringing skills intelligence to accounting firms. Yup, you heard that right! Why accounting? For most of the profession's history, the answer to skills development was proximity: overhearing partners, sitting alongside seniors at client sites, absorbing pattern recognition through doing. It was basically an apprenticeship model, but remote and hybrid work removed that model entirely. And, until now, nothing has really replaced it. We've developed a pre-built skills framework that covers accounting firm roles out of the box so even firms without a dedicated L&D team can deploy it as-is. If you haven't yet built a strategy because you’re too busy, sorry to say but you’ve got it backwards. You actually don’t have time NOT to make a strategy. Check out this short video where Loren explains why having a strategy is crucial. #LearningStrategy #LearningandDevelopement
