Hospital care from the comfort of home is coming to Southern NSW! 🏡 From December 2025, the Hospital in the Home (HITH) program will be available across Bega Valley, Eurobodalla, Goulburn and Queanbeyan, helping people receive safe, high-quality treatment at home while reducing avoidable visits to the ED and long hospital stays. 🏥 This modern model of care is medically led and supported by new wearable remote monitoring technology that tracks vital signs in real time - allowing clinicians to step in early when a patient’s condition changes. HITH will support the recovery of paediatric, palliative and aged care patients with conditions such as cellulitis, pneumonia, deep vein thrombosis and urinary tract infections - helping more people stay connected to home and family while they get better. “This model ensures patients in our district receive equitable, timely and high-quality care across Southern NSW.” – Margaret Bennett, Chief Executive, SNSWLHD (pictured testing the new remote monitoring technology).
